Marketing and technology are two subjects that affect virtually every real estate services enterprise; yet the business owners and managers that head these companies may not have extensive experience in either area. Although it is not necessary to be an expert in marketing or technology in order to run a successful real estate business, it does help to have some familiarity with both topics. The purpose of this course is to provide real estate professionals with the tools needed to understand and execute effective marketing and technology plans.
At its core, marketing is about identifying a customer, understanding that customer's wants and needs, and developing a strategy to ensure that the service offered meets the customer's needs. Lesson 1 explores these topics in detail, introducing the marketing concept and the marketing mix (also called the 4Ps). After completing this lesson, students will have a better understanding of how marketing activities affect all areas of a real estate business.
In today's market, it is nearly impossible to run a successful business without incorporating numerous technological tools. Lesson 2 will address hardware and software needs for a real estate services provider. The lesson also examines the roles of websites and social media in building a business, and legal and security considerations that relate to the use of technology. Upon the completion of this course, students should feel confident in addressing the day-today marketing and technological aspects of their real estate businesses.
